Dallas, TX, February 6, 2018 — RLG Consulting Engineers, a Dallas-based civil, structural, survey and forensics engineering firm is pleased to announce the promotion of Stuart A. Markussen to Chief Operating Officer.
As COO, Markussen will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in RLG’s four departments: civil, structural, survey and forensics for the company’s three offices located in Dallas, TX, Fort Worth, TX and Peoria, IL. Additionally, he will lead internal operations to support RLG’s aggressive growth plans.
“Stuart has played a vital role in the growth of RLG Consulting Engineers,” says David Goodson, PE, RLG President and CEO. “As RLG looks ahead to the future and positions itself for extensive growth, Stuart’s leadership will be a key element to our continued success.”
Markussen joined RLG in 1996 as the Manager of the Civil Engineering and Surveying Departments. After two years with RLG, Markussen quickly advanced to the firm’s ownership group as a principal shareholder. Over his 30-year career, he has gained a wealth of valuable knowledge for working on “fast-track” design and build projects. Markussen has developed a reputation for collaborative leadership by fostering teams to approach project designs with clear communication between the project owner and contractor in order to create constructible designs.
Markussen holds a Master of Science, Management and Administration Science from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University. He holds certifications as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas, Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in Texas and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
