RLG’s team of structural engineers designed the library’s concrete pan beam and post-tensioned girder floor system, which features areas of exposed concrete two-way flat slabs. RLG designed concrete transfer girders that allow the building to set back above the second floor. The adjacent parking garage features post-tensioned one-way slabs and girders. Key design features of the library include interior and exterior monumental staircases and a roof eyebrow at front of the building.
