RLG provided engineering design for the Matilda Hike and Bike trail, along Matilda Street, from Lovers Lane to Sandhurst Drive, for both the City of Dallas and HEB/Central Market. Improvements included the expansion of the current parking lot at Central Market, addition of 12-foot hike and bike trails along Matilda Street, and improvements to existing sidewalks, curb ramps, crosswalks, and other pedestrian elements. RLG installed 475 LF of water main and provided a water easement. RLG coordinated installation of parking and driveway pavement over the existing City of Dallas water main with Dallas Water Utilities.
RLG also coordinated with the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department to provide appropriate signage along the trail. Additional tasks included preparing grading and drainage plans per City of Dallas requirements, preparing drainage area maps, and preparing a control erosion plan to comply with the City of Dallas.
