The City of Kaufman enlisted the help of RLG Consulting Engineers to provide Structural Engineering services for Kaufman’s new City Hall and Police Department. Both organizations will operate under the same roof and will share the same lobby, public restrooms, and employee break room. The City Hall part of the building features the courts and council chamber areas. In addition to dedicated spaces for Finance, IT, and community development. The Police Department area will have dedicated spaces for records, administration, criminal investigation, patrol, and evidence.

RLG’s Structural team designed the building with structural steel framing and moment resisting frames to resist the lateral loads. The building is supported by a drilled pier foundation and perimeter grade beams. The building’s slab is supported on grade with reconditioned soil to resist against slab movement.
