RLG Consulting Engineers provided Civil and Structural Engineering Services for the Cedar Hill Library and Trail System.
Civil Engineering services included assisting the architect in developing a conceptual design for the 9 acre site for the
library and park, site grading for both the library, park and trail system, drainage design, connecting 900 linear feet of water
and 450 linear feet of wastewater lines to provide services to the library structure.
Our team met with the Architect and City to establish design parameters, attended public meetings as required, prepared a site map of the property with existing utilities and 1’ LIDAR contours for use by the design team and prepared construction documents.
The Park, located next to the Cedar Hill library, boasts more than 5 acres of green space. It includes a pre-fabricated pedestrian bridge, which arches over a creek. The RLG Civil Engineering team worked in conjunction with the Structural team to design the bridge’s landings. Initially conceived
as circular, the design of the landings was modified to accommodate the retaining walls, following input from the Structural team.
