RLG has amazing employees in its ranks: from industry influencers, travelers, marathon runners, animal lovers, and community leaders. The Employee Spotlight highlights the talented individuals who work here. Each week, we’ll be featuring an interview here on the blog and on our social accounts.
For this week’s Employee Spotlight, we spoke with Ronny Horton. Here at RLG, Ronny is a Land Surveyor.
I am 36 years old, married, and have two kids. I like hanging out with friends now and then but I'm mostly a homebody. I am a boxing and basketball fan.
How long have you been at RLG? I have been with RLG for a year and a half.
How did you hear about RLG? Why did you want to work here? I heard about RLG from a recruiter. He told me it was a great place to work, I definitely agree.
What is the most challenging project you've worked on during your time here so far? The most challenging project has been J. J. Pearce High School.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned at RLG? I learn something new every day. I, especially, have learned a lot working with Gary Ruiz.
What’s your favorite thing about working in your Department here? Everyone in the survey department works great together.
What's the first thing that you do when you start working every day? Drive to the job site and create a plan to proceed.
What’s your workspace like? Minimalist? Homey? Neat? I like to call it an organized mess.
Do you have a go-to sound or song that you listen to when you need to just start working? Not really, the sound of silence.
If RLG announced a last-minute day off for tomorrow, what would you do with your suddenly free day? My son just got his license, so I'd probably have him take me for a drive. Then I would go home and relax watching YouTube or playing video games.
What would you do if you weren’t working at RLG? If I were 6'3 and had better basketball abilities I would strive to be a professional basketball player. haha.
