For this week’s Employee Spotlight, we spoke with Miguel Zamora. Here at RLG, Miguel is the Senior Marketing Coordinator on the Marketing Team.
I’m a social butterfly! Well, that is what my wife says. I don’t think it came naturally; I don’t remember being super social in high school, I learned to be in the Marine Corps. Was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX and come from a family of 7 (3 brothers, 3 sisters). I joined the Marine Corps at 17 and stayed in for 8 years, and did some traveling, voluntarily and involuntarily! Lol! I decided to pursue a higher education in 2012 and left the Marines. Graduated with my bachelor’s in graphic design in 2015 and then earned my MBA: concentration in Marketing in 2018. On my free time, when my 3 yr old is not demanding things from me, I go for a run, or usually reading something.
How long have you been at RLG? Started in February 2020.
How did you hear about RLG? Why did you want to work here? I heard of RLG through SMPS. When I spoke to Andrea, Director of Business Development, she spoke very highly of RLG.
What is the most challenging project you've worked on during your time here so far? I think the most challenging project currently was the Quarterly Newsletter, designing and creating/researching the content was fun but interesting.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned at RLG? If you have an idea don’t be afraid to speak it out.
What’s your favorite thing about working in your Department here? Being Creative!
What's the first thing that you do when you start working every day? Start my music and go through my emails.
What’s your workspace like? Minimalist? Homey? Neat? When I am in the office its usually minimalistic, as the days goes on more and more papers get stacked and shuffled around. Currently working from home, it’s pretty homey!
Do you have a go-to sound or song that you listen to when you need to just start working? When I delve into work I usually go to Classical music.
If RLG announced a last-minute day off for tomorrow, what would you do with your suddenly free day? Probably pick up my children and get something to eat and enjoy the day!
What would you do if you weren’t working at RLG? I would be a Marketing Coordinator at another firm.
