This 197,000 square foot, six-level
medical facility on the downtown Dallas campus provides state-of-the
art treatment for cardiac patients. The $40 million facility
was designed by the HED Architects and built by Medco Construction. |
| The primary structural system consists of a cast-in-place
concrete pan-joist and girder system. The structural design
was heavily impacted by the complexity of the site, which includes
a major underground drainage structure and numerous other utilities. |

The structure extends over Hall Street to link
the existing Roberts Tower with the new Heart and Vascular Center.
This portion of the project was constructed with composite steel
beams and deck to expedite the construction schedule, and minimize
the impact on Hall Street during construction. |
